We do not breed our studs with wheaten-colored Border Collies unless there is DNA evidence confirming they are not slate merles underneath their coat. While wheatens are a beautiful variation, a slate merle gene hidden beneath their coloring can lead to significant health complications, including the risk of producing puppies with severe vision and hearing impairments. Protecting the health and well-being of future litters is our top priority, and we strictly adhere to this policy to ensure ethical and responsible breeding practices.
